CHEMICAL PEELS
Refining and refreshing the complexion through gentle exfoliation
Chemical peels are professional-grade skin treatments designed to gently exfoliate the skin, refine texture, and promote a more even complexion. By applying a controlled solution to the skin, the outer layer of dull or damaged cells is encouraged to shed, revealing smoother, healthier-looking skin beneath.

At Cosmetic Synergy, all chemical peels are performed by Registered Nurse Tara Hesp in a safe, clinical environment at our Caringbah and Paddington locations.

Purpose of Treatment
Chemical peels can help support the management of a range of common skin concerns, including:
Uneven or dull complexion
Mild pigmentation and sun damage
Congested or breakout-prone skin
Fine lines and rough texture
The type and strength of peel are always chosen based on your skin type and goals, following a thorough consultation.

What to Expect
Your treatment begins with a detailed skin assessment and cleanse. A specific peel solution is then applied to the skin for a controlled period of time. During this stage, you may experience a mild tingling or warmth as the solution works to exfoliate the skin's surface.

The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, with minimal downtime. Follow the peel, your skin may appear slightly pink or feel tight for a short period.

Aftercare
To support optimal results and protect the skin following your peel:
Avoid direct sun exposure and apply SPF daily
Do not pick or peel flaking skin
Keep the skin hydrated using gentle, non-active products
Avoid exfoliants and active ingredients (such as retinol or AHAs) for several days
Some mild flaking or peeling can occur for a few days as the skin renews naturally.

Possible Side Effects
Mild redness, dryness, or temporary sensitivity can occur following a peel. In rare cases, pigment changes or irritation may occur, particularly if aftercare is not followed.
All peels are carefully selected and performed to ensure patient safety and comfort.
